Floral design is Art!

I’m fortunate to collaborate with other floral designers, namely Valley of the Bloom right here in Sonoma. Our love of florals is unmatched and we tend to refer to our creations as our “babies”. We recently had an opportunity to create a tablescape together and decided to deliver the florals directly to be sure placement was what we envisioned. It’s important to us that our designs are viewed and enjoyed as we intended. We were satisfied. Then photos were shared the following day, and our arrangements were embellished with fairy lights strewn over the top of them. I know, not the end of the world and I really need to learn to let go. BUT, floral design is art. One wouldn’t dream of tinkering with an artist’s painting or sculpture, I hope, yet flowers are so approachable and endearing people just can’t help themselves. And for that, all is forgiven. However, next time, let the floral designer add the charming fairly lights.
